Put Back and Neck Pain Behind You

Back and neck pain can significantly reduce your quality of life, limiting your range of motion and interfering with sports and other activities. The good news: There is hope for those suffering with debilitating back and neck pain.

When conservative (nonsurgical) treatments fail to adequately address pain and restore function to an injured area, surgery may become necessary. Thankfully, surgical advancements in recent years have dramatically improved how back the pain specialists partnering with Nobilis Health are able to treat spine disorders, such as degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis.

Orthopedic Patient Testimonials

  • “I would do it again!”Five Stars Robin Raaphorst from Fort Worth, TX on February 12, 2016

Dr. James is an extremely skilled surgeon. He has performed two surgeries on me; an acdf cervical fusion of two levels in my neck and a lumbar 360, two level fusion. I have no pain in my neck and recovering extremely well in my lumbar. My lumbar surgery was not too long ago and I’m in therapy doing extremely well. My spine is pain free from both surgeries and muscles are catching up! I am very blessed to have this extraordinary, wonderful, concerned, pleasant man for my surgeon. I would do it again!

  • “Best doctor for back pain!”Five Stars L. Elsmere from Alvord, TX on May 27, 2015

Dr. James is the best doctor I have seen for my back pain. He explained what was wrong with my back so that I could understand it. He has a wonderful bedside manner. His staff is very nice and handles all concerns very quickly. Since my surgery, I can walk again and my level of pain has dropped significantly.

  • “Best Dr. I have been to in a while”Five Stars J. Reynolds from Krum, TX on June 30, 2015

I went for my initial visit the other day with great hesitation. I was expecting to walk in and the Dr. tell me there was nothing they could do for me like all the others have, to my surprise it was just the opposite. He told me and showed me exactly what the problem was and how to fix it, hopefully he can get Work Comp to approve it now. I loved Dr. James and his staff they were all extremely friendly and helpful! I can’t say enough good things about this office!!

Advanced Surgical Techniques

The following surgical neck and back pain treatments can restore function and provide significant pain relief:

Neck Surgery

  • Disc Replacement with Mobi-CTM cervical disc replacement device: A cutting edge procedure using advanced technology to replace one or more adjacent cervical discs.
  • Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion (ACDF): A procedure to correct a herniated disc or a degenerative disc in the neck area by fusing the discs together.
  • Cervical Laminectomy: A procedure to remove a spine disc that is pressing against the nerves of the spinal cord to relieve pain.

Back Surgery

  • Microdiscectomy: A procedure to relieve pain by surgically removing the portion of a herniated disc that is pressing against a nerve.
  • Laminectomy: A procedure to enlarge the spinal canal and relieve nerve pressure caused by various conditions, including spinal stenosis.
  • Arthroplasty: A procedure to replace or reconstruct a diseased disc using an artificial device.
  • Spinal Fusion: A procedure that permanently connects (fuses) two or more bones in the spine.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Among the most significant technological advancements in neck and back injury treatment is minimally invasive surgery, which involves sending a specialized camera and tiny surgical instruments through small incisions to perform a corrective procedure.

Minimally invasive spine surgery has many advantages, including smaller incisions, less pain, faster recovery times, and less damage to surrounding muscle and soft tissue. Patients can typically resume work and normal activities much more quickly than with traditional surgery. Your orthopedic surgeon will perform a thorough evaluation of your condition to determine whether you may be a candidate for this minimally invasive surgery.
