About Advanced Spine & Orthopedics

orthopedic surgeon care in Southlake and FriscoThank you for taking the time to learn more about the origins of Advanced Spine & Orthopedics (ASODocs). It all starts with our founder, board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon, Dr. Kevin James. After earning his medical degree, completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at Houston’s Baylor College of Medicine, and training in the specialty of spine surgery, Dr. James started his medical career as the spine surgeon of a multispecialty orthopedic physician group.

Orthopedic Surgeons Serving Southlake

He had already honed his surgical skill at some of the most eminent surgery centers in the world. Soon Dr. James gained a reputation as a doctor who is personable, compassionate and calm – even in the face of some of the most complex revision spine cases. He eventually set out to create his own practice, designed to be a patient-centered spine care center focusing on the doctor-patient relationship. As they diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic problems – spinal trauma, disc injury, disc replacement, degenerative scoliosis, joint disease, deformity, etc. – the ASODocs team goes above and beyond the simple “good bedside manner.”

Keeping Patients Informed & Techniques Updated

We built Advanced Spine & Orthopedics on three key principals:

  1. A good physician should always spend adequate time with patients.
  2. A good physician should thoroughly explain all treatment options.
  3. A good physician should be able to offer the latest and most advanced treatment options.

Our commitment to these three goals is consistent throughout the ASODocs organization. Each nurse, receptionist, and medical assistant offers the same excellent level of care and attention to every patient. Referrals to physician partners are based on these three principals, too.

Patient Care, Personalized Attention Come First

We spend quality time with every patient. First, you undergo an initial consultation with your doctor. That may be Dr. James, our Spine Surgeon, or Dr. Eubanks, our Orthopedic Surgeon, who specializes in both Pediatric and Adult Orthopedics. Patient visits will be scheduled to allow as much time as you need to get all of your questions answered. Family members are encouraged to attend and ask questions, so that everyone is informed and comfortable with the plan of treatment. This treatment philosophy is evident in our patient testimonials.

Benefits of Patient-Centered Care

We thoroughly explain all treatment options. Your X-rays and MRIs will be demonstrated on a skeleton model to point out the anatomy of your condition. As for treatments, our orthopedic specialists offer proven solutions using the most advanced treatment methods and technologies. In addition, Dr. James feels it is equally important to be an expert of non-operative orthopedic care, as well as surgical techniques. All proposed treatment options are backed up by a discussion on the latest medical research on your type of condition.

Conditions Treated:

Our goal is to give every opportunity to make an informed decision. Ultimately, we want our patients to feel comfortable and confident in the medical care offered at Advanced Spine and Orthopedics. For example, Dr. James received training from respected leaders in the fields of both orthopedic spine surgery and neurosurgery. He attends conferences regularly to master the most advanced techniques in spine surgery. Recommendations are made based on specific evidence and results proven by current medical literature. Your consultation will often include a discussion of recent journal articles, which sort through the many misconceptions surrounding minimally invasive spine surgery.
